Gov. Walker: Phil Montgomery to chair the Public Service Commission

Madison–Today Governor Walker announced Phil Montgomery as chair of the Public Service Commission (PSC). Phil has a long history of working on utility, energy and telecommunications issues while serving as a six-term state elected representative. He has been married to Lisa Montgomery for 25 years, has one son Michael, and one daughter Katherine.

He served on the Special Committee on Clean Energy Jobs, Joint Committee on Finance, Assembly Committee on Energy and Utility Committee, Joint Committee on Information Policy and Technology, was the Chairman of the Assembly Committee on Energy and Utilities and has served on other related committees in the Assembly and on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Public Utility Institute.

“Phil will help protect ratepayers and ensure our state has a sustainable and economical network of power production facilities,” said Governor Walker. “He has extensive knowledge of energy issues in Wisconsin and his unique leadership qualities will make him an excellent PSC chairman. Holding down the cost of producing energy will be a key part of ensuring Wisconsin has a business climate that allows the private sector to create 250,000 new jobs.”
