MADISON—Governor Scott Walker today announced that Kerry Ingredients and Flavours, Beloit, Rock County, will receive a $1.5 million loan from the Wisconsin Development Fund administered by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to assist in an expansion project that will result in the creation of 67 new positions.

“Kerry is a major jobs provider in Wisconsin with an opportunity for additional growth,” said Governor Walker, who serves as chair of the WEDC Board. “I’m pleased the WEDC is able to assist the company in a significant investment that will benefit the state’s economy.”

Kerry Ingredients and Flavours develops, manufacturers, and delivers technology-based ingredients, flavours and integrated solutions for the global Food, Beverage and Pharmaceutical markets. “Since opening in 2009, the Kerry Customer Center in Beloit has helped us successfully develop and deliver new innovative business-building solutions for our customers,” stated Jim Egan, Director of Communications for Kerry. “This increased investment in R&D and customer application areas will help advance our capabilities in response to customer and market demand.”

Kerry is looking to invest approximately $20 million in the Kerry Customer Center expansion and other production facilities located throughout Wisconsin. This would result in the creation of 67 new positions and enable the retention of 800 existing positions statewide.

The WEDC is Wisconsin’s lead economic development agency. Created in statute as a public authority, the WEDC is responsible for economic development activities previously administered by the Department of Commerce, a state agency eliminated on July 1, 2011.
