Project to create 379 jobs
MADISON—Governor Scott Walker announced today that Brown County will receive a $2 million grant from the Community Development Block Grant–Economic Development (CDBG-ED) program of the Department of Commerce. Brown County will lend the funds to Marquis Yachts, LLC, for the purchase of new equipment and for working capital.
“The decision by Marquis Yachts, LLC, Inc. is a positive sign for our state and especially good news for Brown County,” Governor Walker said. “I’m pleased that we could assist the company with this job-creating project.”
Marquis Yachts, LLC, Inc. manufactures freight containers out of composite materials. It has won contracts to supply these containers to federal government agencies. The company will use the loan for working capital and new equipment. The project will create 379 jobs and represents a total investment of $19.8 million.
