Full Spectrum Solar is pleased to announce that they have received the 2011 Dane County Small Business of the Year Award. Full Spectrum Solar is honored to accept this prestigious award which recognizes successful small businesses in Dane County that have rewarding workplace environments and contribute to their community.

At the ceremony the awards presenter specifically noted Full Spectrum Solar’s renovation of a dilapidated building into an energy-efficient office and warehouse, their progressive employee benefits package including transit benefits for bus riders and bicyclists, and their success in providing renewable energy to homes and businesses in Dane County. Ten local businesses were honored at the awards ceremony held at the Sheraton Madison hotel June 10th.

“It has been an incredible year for us, first moving into a newly renovated building on E. Washington Ave. to accommodate our growth and then receiving this award! We are very proud of all of our employees that have made everything we have accomplished possible” said Burke O’Neal, co-owner of Full Spectrum Solar. Mark O’Neal, co-owner added, “We thank all of our customers and others who we have worked with in the Dane County community for their support through the years”.

Founded in 2002, Full Spectrum Solar is owned and operated by Madison-natives and UW-Madison engineering alumni, brothers Burke and Mark O’Neal. In the past five years, they have increased their sales eight-fold and currently employ 13 employees. “My brother Mark and I are thankful for the opportunity to make our careers in such an inspiring field as solar energy and to be able to contribute to the local economy,” said Burke O’Neal.
