Green Bay, Wisconsin- (Sept. 15, 2011)- The much anticipated Festival Foods store located on Taylor Drive in Sheboygan will be opening its doors for business at 6am on Friday, Sept. 16.

The new Sheboygan store features Orion skylights, “green” equipment including LED and motion sensor lighting, and a new customer-friendly deli layout.

According to Mark Skogen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Festival Foods, the company is looking forward to opening its new store in Sheboygan, noting that the Taylor Heights location is an area of the city that will support and welcome a new store.

“We’ve enjoyed working with the City of Sheboygan and our developer to make this store possible. We look forward to earning the business of the area residents. Our leadership team is excited to join the Sheboygan community and have a developed team of associates who will serve guests from this location. As our company continues to grow, I am thankful for all of our great associates across the state because without their efforts our growth would not be possible,” Skogen said.

The 71,000-square-foot store offers a “kitchen classics” meat department, natural and organic foods, fresh sushi, a healthy-choices salad bar, a hot foods bar, an extensive deli and prepared foods selection, a wine and spirits shop, and catering services. Customers will also have access to in-store banking services with the Associated Bank branch located in the store.

In addition, customers with young children will be able to take advantage of Tot Spot, Festival Foods’ supervised in-store child care service. Tot Spot provides a fun, safe learning environment that is free to customers with children ages 18 months to 7 years while they shop.

The Milwaukee-based real estate development firm, Boulder Venture LLC, is landlord for the property. Joseph Schmitt & Sons Construction of Sheboygan served as the general contractor for the project.

“We have 230 associates fully trained and ready to serve you the minute the doors open on Friday,” says Store Director, Mike Wais. “In addition, we have many more vendors, suppliers, and contractors who will partner with us to give you a great shopping experience”, he continued, “It has been a pleasure working with everyone to build this store from the ground up and look forward to meeting our new customers.”

As part of the celebration of the new Sheboygan store opening, Festival Foods is proud to sponsor the ISAF Nations Cup Grand Finale taking place in Sheboygan now through September 18. This event has not been held in the United States since 1995, and never in the Midwest, so it is a rare opportunity for locals to view match race sailing. On-shore, Festival is also hosting the Festival Foods Nations Cup Extravaganza this Saturday featuring carnival rides, a petting zoo, power boat tours, and other entertainment including a live performance by Locksley. The night will culminate with the Festival Foods Fireworks Show at 8pm at Sheboygan’s South Pier.
