Edgewood College: Dr. Richard Gaillardetz to present 2011 Siena Lecture

Professor at Boston College Examines ‘Search For Truth’

Madison, Wis. (Oct. 20, 2011) –Edgewood College welcomes Dr. Richard Gaillardetz for the 2011 Siena Lecture.

Dr. Gaillardetz, a distinguished professor of Catholic Systematic Theology at Boston College, will present “The Search For Truth and the Virtue of Ecclesial Discernment.” The lecture will cover topics including the role of dialogue in the search for truth, and what wisdom may be gleaned for our day from the long history of the search for truth in the Catholic intellectual tradition.

This year’s lecture is at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, October 25, 2011, in Anderson Auditorium on the campus of Edgewood College.

About Dr. Gaillardetz
Dr. Richard R. Gaillardetz is the Joseph McCarthy Professor of Catholic Systematic Theology at Boston College. Dr. Gaillardetz previously taught at the University of Toledo from 2001 to 2011 as the Thomas and Margaret Murray and James J. Bacik Professor of Catholic Studies. From 1991 to 2001 he taught at the University of St. Thomas Graduate School of Theology in Houston. He received a B.A. in Humanities from the University of Texas, an M.A. in Biblical Theology from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, and both an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame in Systematic Theology. He has published numerous articles and books.
