A charming back yard theme complete with birds singing and a white picket fence isn’t all you get when you walk through the door at In the Dogz House. Deb designed her new salon with dogs and the environment in mind. Almost everything in the store is recycled and biodegradable. From the castaway pallets on the walls to the wood used to make the shelves. It isn’t your typical run of mill grooming salon. Deb has been developing her holistic grooming process for years and has eliminated the use of kennels, muzzles and cage dryers to reduce the amount of stress. In turn, she has brought back what has been lacking in the grooming industry which is a personalized, hands-on approach. “Holistic grooming isn’t just about natural shampoos and essential oils. Many salons coin themselves as holistic without realizing the dog as a ‘whole’ and failing to recognize its mind, body and soul.” said, Deb Compton.
Deb has added to her team of holistic groomers, Tosha Vande Hey (4 years experience) and Laura Thompson (3 years experience), both formally of Waggin’ Tails in Fitchburg, Wi. Tosha is a loving and gentle groomer that works incredibly well with puppies and dogs who are new to the grooming process. She always starts them out on the right ‘paw’ and earns their trust and maintains the positive relationship throughout the years. Laura joined the team because she felt the personalized care that goes into each dog is better than the industry standard.
