MILWAUKEE – The law firm of Dewitt Ross & Stevens S.C. today announced attorneys Steven Conway and Joe Miotke have joined its firm.

Conway will practice from the firm’s Madison office and will specialize in the areas of Health Care, Litigation and Government Relations. He brings unique experience to the firm and has served as COO and General Counsel of Allied Health of Wisconsin. He has experience in contracts, employment and labor law, discrimination cases, employee benefits, regulatory and compliance administration and medical malpractice defense. Conway is a prolific presenter on topics related to safety and injury prevention and more than 6,000 individuals have attended his presentations. He is certified in chiropractic spinal trauma and successfully ran a chiropractic center for more than 17 years. He provided legal, lobbyist and administrative services to one of the largest chiropractic corporations in the United States and managed the growth of that corporation from 18 clinics to 50 clinics. He has extensive experience dealing with major legislative issues and is one of 5 national spokespersons for the American Chiropractic Association. Conway earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, his Juris Doctor at Stetson University- College of Law, and he also holds a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic.

Miotke will practice from the firm’s Metropolitan Milwaukee office specializing in Intellectual Property. He is a patent litigator and licensed patent attorney with over ten years of intellectual property experience in patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret matters. Before joining DeWitt, Miotke founded MioTek LLC, Wisconsin’s first law firm, and among the first in the United States, focused upon Intellectual Property Monetization as well as offering a full array of IP services. Miotke has been part of patent litigation teams securing verdicts and settlements in excess of $150 million. He is also one of the only attorneys in Wisconsin, and among the few in the United States, who has negotiated IP monetization transactions. Miotke likewise has substantial experience preparing patent applications across a wide array of technologies and negotiating complex intellectual property transactions with many of the world’s largest technology innovators. Miotke also was an associate at Jenner & Block and partner at Michael Best & Friedrich in the intellectual property and intellectual property litigation groups. Miotke earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at Marquette University and graduated in the top five percent of his law school class at Marquette University Law School.
