MADISON, Wis. (Aug. 26, 2011) – Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett is featured in the September/October issue of Wisconsin Trails magazine. Klett was glad to have the opportunity to showcase her hometown of Beloit to journalist and Wisconsin aficionado Mary Bergin. The article, entitled “A Wisconsin Welcome: The New Secretary of Tourism Knows How to Show People a Good Time,” highlights who Klett is and where the tourism department is headed.

“Wisconsin Trails has long been one of my favorite magazines so I’m thrilled to be featured,” said Klett. “It was fantastic to show off Beloit to Mary and share my love of Wisconsin.”

The article also touches on Klett’s perspective regarding tourism and political affiliation. In the article, Bergin quoted Klett, “‘I don’t care if you’re a conservative in one of our hotels, a democrat on our water slides or an independent on our hiking trails,’ she says, because her department’s job is to welcome everybody.”

The article also includes quotes from those close to Klett, including her mother, Joanne Klett, and Tourism Deputy Secretary Dave Fantle. Read the full article here: http://wisconsintrails.com/content/264.php.
