MADISON, Wis. (May 9, 2011) – Governor Scott Walker and Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele will recognize the power of tourism at a news conference and photo opportunity on Tuesday, May 10 at the Milwaukee County Zoo. It will be an opportunity for Governor Walker and Executive Abele to celebrate the economic impact tourism plays in the state and local economy and the great tourism amenities of Milwaukee County that are a source of pride for the community.

The news conference is one of dozens of events happening throughout Wisconsin in recognition of National Tourism Week, May 7-15, 2011 and the state’s $12 billion travel and hospitality economy. Tourism breakfasts and luncheons featuring state officials, unveilings of mobile visitor centers and special award presentations are among the events.
