MADISON, Wis. (June 9, 2011) — Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett and former Green Bay Packers Gilbert Brown and William Henderson are camping at Merry Mac’s Campground on Saturday, June 11 in Merrimac to kick off this month’s “Go Camping Wisconsin.”
The “celebrity camp out” is part of a national initiative to get families outdoors and spending time together through affordable camping experiences. Participating private campgrounds throughout Wisconsin are offering discounts, contests and promotions during the month to promote camping and to encourage families who have never camped to try it out.
