NEW BERLIN, WI – September 30, 2011 – BUYSEASONS, Inc., the largest online retailer of costumes, party supplies and décor, plans to break the Guinness World Record for most people dressed in costumes of video game characters. The company will host its record-breaking attempt at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at its headquarters outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A representative from the Guinness Book of World Records, Mr. Danny Girton Jr., will be present to validate the entry.
The current record for the largest gathering of people dressed as video game characters featured 376 participants and took place at MCM Expo in London in May of 2009. BUYSEASONS, Inc. is hoping to overtake this record by 20%, totaling approximately 450 people. The video game characters expected at the Oct. 5th gathering will include Angry Birds, God of War, Mortal Kombat, Pac Man, Street Fighter, Spy vs. Spy, Super Mario Bros., and Tomb Raider.
