Green Bay, WI – On February 26th, Bay Area Humane Society will hold its 13th annual dinner fundraiser. Formerly known as “FurBall”, this year the event has shed the black-tie and been reinvented as a still dressy (cocktail attire), but more playful “Bark of the Bay”.

This year both people and pets can enjoy the event, as a limited number of dogs will be rsvp’d for a night of pampering and fun in “Buddy & Bella’s Bash”. The canine companions of Bark of the Bay guests get to enjoy a night of light grooming, gourmet treats, fun activities, and more.

In 2009, the event helped raise funds critical to the Shelter’s basic operations as well as provided pledges of nearly $10,000.00 to launch their first ever on-site spay and neuter capabilities. “We’re very excited to share the news about the impact that program has had on increased adoption rates and more last year,” says Lisa Kay Peters, Development Director. “This is not just the first big fundraiser of 2011 for us – it’s the chance for the animal advocates in our community to be leaders in making really spectacular changes happen in the coming year.”

This year’s evening will include a special presentation on the Society’s plans for re-launching an improved and expanded volunteer and children’s humane education program.

2-legged guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, dinner and dessert, followed by music and dancing with The Jazz Orgy, silent and live auctions.

The evening will be hosted at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay and emceed by Erin Davisson from CBS Channel 5.

Admission to the event is $75 per person and guests can R.S.V.P. at Bay Area Humane Society, or pay by phone 920.469.3110 ext 111, or by visiting http://www.bayareahumanesociety.

All proceeds benefit Bay Area Humane Society, a non-profit organization which works to provide the best possible care and future for companion animals in our community.

The Bark of the Bay is presented by Bay-Tek Games of Pulaski, Buddy & Bella’s Bash is sponsored by Caffe Naturally & Terry Naturally.
