It always pays to follow the Golden Rule in business. Putting the customer first and focusing on quality products has helped Badger Popcorn & Concession Supply grow in a down economy and gain recognition.

“The lessons Mom and Dad used to pound into my brother and I while growing up in the family business are still paying dividends,” Tim Virnoche, Vice President and “Prince of Popcorn”, said. “They taught us to treat everyone fairly and honestly, provide the best products at a good value, and deliver excellent customer service.”

In a down economy where many small businesses are struggling, this Madison Wisconsin family business enjoyed steady growth and hired additional staff in 2011.

Overall sales grew more than 7%

54% increase in equipment sales

Manufacturing increased 12% over last year

Additional staff added: 3 full time permanent and 7 full time seasonal positions

In December, Gold Medal Products Co., Cincinnati OH, honored Badger Popcorn and 10 other companies out of 300 worldwide distributors for excellence. Golden Eagles were awarded to companies that had outstanding years in sales, marketing, and customer service. This distinguished award is only given to those who have shown dedication to their customers and industry, and provided the total package of outstanding service.  This was Badger Popcorn’s 7th Golden Eagle.
