American Veterinary Medical Foundation: Dr. Peter Muir of the University of Wisconsin-Madison wins AVMF/AKC Career Achievement in Canine Research Award

(SCHAUMBURG, Illinois) July 19, 2011—Dr. Peter Muir, an alumni of Bristol University veterinary school in the United Kingdom, has received the American Veterinary Medical Foundation’s (AVMF) AVMF/AKC Career Achievement in Canine Research Award.

The American Veterinary Medical Association today honored some of the nation’s top veterinarians during an awards ceremony at the association’s Annual Convention in St. Louis, Mo. Each recipient has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of both animals and people around the country and the globe. These individuals represent the very best in all areas of veterinary medicine, from education and public service to research and private practice.

The AVMF/AKC Career Achievement in Canine Research Award honors a candidate’s long-term contribution to the field of canine research.
