About Dr. Behrooz Rezvani
Behrooz Rezvani is a visionary, serial entrepreneur and angel investor located in San Francisco, California. He has founded two companies that dramatically influenced the landscape of telecommunications for HDTV delivery to homes and HDTV distribution inside homes, affecting large populations of users around the world.
Dr. Rezvani is co-founder and chairman of Quantenna communications, a wireless communications leader that has developed the industry’s most advanced 802.11n WiFi chipset for high definition video streaming while surpassing industry giants like Qualcomm, Intel and Broadcom. Dr. Rezvani served as CEO of Quantenna for four years during which time the company became the number one WiFi performance leader in the world. He was instrumental in raising significant capital, particularly during the most difficult financial crisis in the industry during 2008/2009.
Prior to Quantenna, Dr. Rezvani founded Ikanos Communications in 1999 and saw it through its IPO on NASDAQ in 2005. Ikanos was the first to achieve 100Mbps data rates over copper telephone lines using VDSL technology. As Ikanos’ CTO, Rezvani helped the company secure an 80 percent share of the worldwide Very-high-data-rate DSL (VDSL) market, with a dominant position in Japan, Korea and Europe. At the same time, Dr. Rezvani served as president of the DMT Alliance, an industry group of over 50 members including Intel, Alcatel, STM, Broadcom that drove the development and finalization of VDSL worldwide standards through the IEEE, ITU-T, ANSI and ETSI.
Dr. Rezvani has held management positions at GE, Ericson, Siemens, and Rockwell. He has been awarded 30 U.S. patents with ten more currently pending. He has expertise in the fields of Information and Statistical Analysis, Computer/DSP Architecture, Quantum Optics and Networking. Dr. Rezvani received B.S. and M.S. degrees in electronic engineering from NDSU/UND and a Ph.D. from Marquette University. He is a frequent speaker at industry forums. He is an advisor to Swisscom Venture.
