Milwaukee, Wis. – Three members of the Wisconsin Bio Industry Alliance (WBIA) were re-elected this morning in Washington, D.C. to serve on the National Board of Directors for the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA).

Re-elected to new terms at the RFA Annual Meeting were:

* Steve Christensen, General Manager at Western Wisconsin Energy

* John Didion, Chief Executive Officer of Didion Ethanol

* Robert Sather, Chair of the Board of Directors of Ace Ethanol

“We are excited to have three of our members serving on the National RFA Board and helping to shape federal and state policy as it relates to renewable fuels,” said Joshua Morby, Executive Director of the WBIA. “With their combined experience and background in ethanol production in Wisconsin, I am sure that they will continue to add an important voice to the national dialogue.”

In addition to attending the RFA Annual Meeting, Wisconsin WBIA members will be visiting Capitol Hill later today to meet with members of the Wisconsin congressional delegation and their staff to discuss the need to extend the Volumetric Ethanol Excise Tax Credit (VEETC). Without extension, the tax credits will expire at the end of this year, which could have negative ramifications in Wisconsin and nationally.

“We are looking forward to our meetings with the members of the Wisconsin congressional delegation,” said Morby. “It is important that they hear directly about this legislation and how it will severely impact Wisconsin’s bio industry if not enacted.”

The Wisconsin Bio Industry Alliance is a diverse group of businesses, environmental groups, and statewide and local organizations that have come together to build both public and legislative awareness of the bio industry in Wisconsin.
