Milwaukee, Wis. – February 26, 2010 – The law firm of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C. is pleased to announce that the Wisconsin Law Journal has selected Managing Director Bruce G. Arnold as a 2010 recipient of its Leaders in the Law Award.

Arnold, a shareholder in the firm’s Milwaukee office, is in select company as one of only 25 legal professionals in Wisconsin to receive the prestigious award, which honors practitioners and judges throughout the state for their leadership, vision and legal expertise. He was recognized for his outstanding legal achievement in health care, and business restructuring, creditors’ rights and bankruptcy.

He counsels clients in all aspects of health care with an emphasis on the creation of hospital-physician joint ventures, and the development of ambulatory surgery centers. Arnold is also heavily involved in the emerging field of health information technology. He assisted in the creation and implementation of Wisconsin’s only Regional Health Information Organization (the Wisconsin Health Information Exchange), for which he now serves as Chairman of the Board.

“Bruce is one of those rare attorneys who has been able to combine legal expertise in both the health care and bankruptcy practices,” said WHD Chief Executive Paul Eberle. “His knowledge and experience are invaluable to clients and our firm.”

In addition, Arnold routinely represents clients in insolvency proceedings, with an increasing emphasis on the financial difficulties facing the health care industry. He has successfully represented debtors, creditors’ committees and major creditors in some of the most important bankruptcy proceedings ever filed in Wisconsin.

He is also very active in the community, most notably as a Trustee for the Faith in Our Future Trust, a campaign to strengthen Catholic education and faith formation in southeastern Wisconsin, which has already received pledges exceeding $91 million.

“I’m particularly grateful to the Wisconsin Law Journal for including me among a distinguished group of jurists, academics and practicing lawyers who also value giving back to our community in profound ways,” Arnold said.

Arnold is no stranger to high-profile recognition. He was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® in both Health Care Law and Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights Law (2005 – 2010). He also was selected as one of the best lawyers in Milwaukee (Milwaukee Magazine, 1994, 2004), named to the Wisconsin Super Lawyers list (2005-09) and is AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
