USDA: Country Estates breaks ground for Collection System Upgrades

USDA Rural Development Provided More Than $5.5 Million in Financing

LYONS, WI – TUESDAY, JUNE 15, 2010 – The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development is holding a ground breaking ceremony to celebrate the commencement of construction for improvements to Country Estate’s wastewater collection system.

The current facility was constructed in 1969, has been experiencing significant infiltration and inflow issues due to failing collection system lines.. This project will significantly reduce contamination issues the district is currently experiencing. Country Estates Sanitary District is comprised of a mobile home park with approximately 120 residents.

USDA Rural Development has awarded Country Estates with a $1,456,000 loan and a $3,120,000 grant, with funds provided through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) for the construction and improvements to the Country Estates Sanitary District wastewater collection system. With the completion of this project, the City will be able to meet existing and future wastewater treatment needs of the area.
