‘A Strong Record of Fighting for the State’s Businesses,’ Loon Says

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today the U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced its endorsement of former Ashland Country District Attorney Sean Duffy for Congress in Wisconsin’s 7th District, praising his record of supporting the state’s businesses and workers.

“We’re endorsing Sean Duffy because he has a record of standing up for the people of Wisconsin in these challenging economic times,” said Doug Loon, the U.S. Chamber’s vice president of Regional Affairs. “He is an invaluable leader who has a common sense approach to job creation and getting America back on the road to recovery.”

As a champion of fiscal responsibility, Duffy will restore sanity to the Washington culture of spending. He is also committed to spurring job creation by offering small businesses relief from burdensome taxation and regulation, and stopping any cap-and-trade proposal that would harm the economy.

“On issues ranging from out-of-control spending, to burdensome regulations, Wisconsin’s businesses and workers will have a tireless advocate in Sean Duffy,” Loon said.

The U.S. Chamber plans to play a major role nationwide in the 2010 elections, endorsing candidates who have demonstrated consistent support for America’s job creators and will work to advance a pro-growth agenda in Congress. In 2008, 213 of the 265 Chamber-endorsed candidates (81%) were elected.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations.
