(Madison, WI) The Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) and special guest Mayor Dave Cieslewicz will host a luncheon on Thursday, October 7 at Restaurant Magnus, from 11:30 to 1:30, to honor Madisonians who helped bring conventions, meetings and events to Madison as part of the Bring Your Meeting Home campaign.

The Bring Your Meeting Home campaign is an ongoing effort of the GMCVB designed to bring more conventions and events to Madison. The GMCVB and local residents work together to encourage the organizations and professional associations the volunteer is involved in to host their national, regional or statewide convention in Madison. As a result of the efforts of these honorees, over $39 million has been generated in direct economic impact for Madison

“Those of us who live in the Madison area share an emotional commitment to our community,” states Deb Archer, President and CEO of the GMCVB. “The Bring Your Meeting Home campaign lets local citizens help others discover the unique blend of natural beauty, distinct culture and world-class educational foundation that Madison has to offer.”

Convention and meetings business bring increased revenues to hotels, restaurants, retail shops and convention sites. They also contribute to job stability, offset property taxes and showcase Madison on a national level.
