Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce: Genencor nominated for 2010 Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Award

BELOIT, Wis. -The Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce has nominated Genencor, a Danisco Division, 2600 Kennedy Dr., Beloit, for the 23rd annual Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Award. The nomination was approved and is endorsed by the GBCC’s Board of Directors.

Genencor was presented with the GBCC’s “Business of the Year – Manufacturing Award” at its 83rd annual dinner in March, and since then, Genencor has committed to an expansion of its site, increasing employees and to adopting technological advancements and environmental solutions that will enable the plant to substantially increase production in Beloit.

“We believe that Genencor is among the elite in manufacturing innovation in the State of Wisconsin,” said GBCC President Randall Upton. “The company has not wavered from its commitment to excellence in the face of a challenging economy and has adopted plans that would increase its production capacity and employment at the Beloit site.”
