Gov. Doyle: To promote family participation at 92nd PGA Championship

Governor Jim Doyle will attend the 92nd PGA Championship and promote the participation of young people at this family-friendly event tomorrow, Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. at the PGA Learning Center presented by American Express at the Whistling Straits Golf Course in Sheboygan. For the first time ever, the PGA Championship is offering free admission to four kids under 17 when in the company of a ticketed adult.

Governor Doyle will receive a golf lesson from PGA professional Bill Graham of Chenequa Country Club in Hartland, Wisconsin. The lesson includes putting, full shots in one of the hitting bays, as well as playing a hole on the golf simulator. The free golf lessons are one of several family-friendly activities that the PGA championship is offering this year.

The 92nd PGA Championship takes place at Whistling Straits and runs through Sunday, August 15. Whistling Straits last hosted the PGA Championship in 2004.
