Madison, May 17, 2010: Wisconsin-based First Business Financial Services, Inc. is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The company was started in 1990 by Jerry Smith & Associates. It was the first business bank in the Midwest and had 167 investors from the community with $3 million in stock.
First Business has since grown to become the 6th largest commercial bank in Wisconsin with offices in Madison, Brookfield, and Northeast Wisconsin. The company is publically traded on NASDAQ (FBIZ), is $1 billion in size, and is approaching $500 million in investment assets managed for clients. It is also one of the few banks to post a profit in each of the past two years.
