Vote on Facebook at Kohl’s Cares today for St. Marcus Lutheran, Pius XI High School and Racine Mitchell Middle School to find out what these 3 Milwaukee area schools would do with 1.5 million dollars from the Kohl’s Care’s philanthropic program.

Kohl’s is giving half a million dollars to 20 schools in AMERICA this year, a total of $10 million, in recognition of the company’s 10th anniversary of its Kohl’s Care’s philanthropic program supporting children’s health and education. Kohl’s is encouraging supporters to dream big about what their favorite schools could do with a half a million dollars.

Milwaukee schools in the top fifty are St. Marcus Lutheran School, Pius XI High School and Racine’s Mitchell Middle School. We need you to vote today and push these schools and their dreams to the top twenty in AMERICA. Let’s come together and mobilize our networks to guarantee that we keep $1.5 million in philanthropy in our region and great state, thus acknowledging the significant contribution that Kohl’s has made to our heritage.

The top 20 vote-getting schools that meet the contest criteria and provide information on how the funds will be used to support educational programs or initiatives will each win $500,000.

1.Leadership Racine has contacted all 333 alumni and asked them to vote on http://www.Facebook.com/Kohls

2.The Young Professionals of Racine has posted a request on the LiveWire for all 1500 on their contact list to support the cause of keeping the Kohls prize money in SE Wisconsin.

3.Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce members have been contacted through professional and networking groups in companies all across Racine County.

bizMe.biz, an online career coaching magazine, is proud to support 3 Milwaukee area schools in their quest to be one of the winning schools to share in the 1.5 million dollars from the Kohl’s Care’s philanthropic program.

VISIT Milwaukee (the local convention and visitors bureau) has supported this effort by contacting its 600-plus members about this opportunity to support our local schools and encouraging them to vote as well as spreading the word through its widely-followed Facebook page.

The Bartolotta Restaurants in partnership with The Pabst Theater and Discovery World have offered volunteers from the schools free space and access to an estimated weekly crowd in excess of 5,000 at Fish Fry and a Flick. The event is held weekly at Pier Wisconsin and voting will occur on the following Fridays: 8.20.10, 8.27.10 and 9.3.10.

Joe Bartolotta has made a personal appeal to his 700 employees, is posting a banner ad on the Bartolotta website and all location Facebook pages.
