Mother Nature could not deter racing at Dells Raceway Park this past Saturday. As storms moved out of the area, Late Models, Sportsman, Pure Stocks, Bandits, and American Super Cups took on Wisconsin’s Showcase Short Track.

Setting the fast qualifying time for the Late Model Division this week was Rich Schumann Jr with a time of 14.307 seconds. For the feature event, double file restarts were debuted in all classes, allowing a number of drivers to gain positions quickly and giving fans an exciting show. Bobby Kendall started the feature on the pole, however an early caution allowed Dan Lensing to move to the front and by mid race he had taken the lead. Challenging Lensing, Kendall continued to fight for first but got tangled in lapped traffic giving Lensing the opening he needed to bring home his first checkered flag in the Late Model division. Nick Nolden won the fast dash; Rocky Breezer and Corey Jankowski won their heat races.

As the new Sportsman division continues to grow each week, competition is heating up. Last years track champion in the Bandit division, Brian Warner, returned and set fast time with a 15.584. Starting mid-pack in the feature, Daron Fish would take the lead only four laps into the race and sailed into Victory Lane for his first feature win of the season. Rick Coppernoll won the heat race.

In the Pure Stock division, Dave Trute, in his freshly painted #2 car, was fast qualifier with a time of 15.729 seconds. Starting in the back of the field for the feature, Trute would need to work his way past front runners Bic Arendsee and Don Fassett. Proving he had the fastest car of the night, Trute took over the lead from Arendsee and claimed his second feature win of the season. Bill Zeman won the heat race.

For the third time this season Brandon Junget set fast time in the Bandit Division with a 17.383. Kelsey Schultz picked up her first win ever in the B-Feature and transferred into the main event with Ren Revels, Andrew Portzen, and Steven Rozek. In the feature, James Junget would start in third place and quickly move to the front of the field, while brother Brandon would start farther back. However by the time the checkered flag waved James Junget was in the lead, with Brandon right behind him. Kurt Kolden, James Junget, and Josh Bisbee won their heat races.
