Davis & Kuelthau: Attorney Edward Williams honored for professional and volunteer service

OSHKOSH— Davis & Kuelthau, s.c. is proud to announce that Edward J. Williams of the firm’s Oshkosh office has been presented with the Wisconsin School Attorneys Association’s (WSAA) George Tipler Award. The award is presented annually to an attorney for distinguished service in school law to Wisconsin school districts. The individual receiving the award is first nominated by school officials or member attorneys and then selected by the WSAA Board of Directors. Williams was honored at the association’s annual meeting in October.

Additionally, Williams was honored as the 2010 Outstanding Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce Volunteer. He has been a longtime member of the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce, and he served as the board chair in 1988. As chair, Williams established Leadership Oshkosh, a program to educate individuals about the community and to prepare them for leadership roles in professional and community organizations. He also led the chamber’s Forward 2000 fundraising campaign in the early nineties. Williams received the award at the 103rd Annual Meeting and Recognition Program of the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce on November 1, 2010.

Williams, a shareholder in the Oshkosh office of Davis & Kuelthau, s.c., focuses his practice on labor and employment, municipal and school law. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, The Florida Bar, the National Public Employers Labor Relations Association and the Wisconsin School Law Association. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Louisville School of Law and his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. In addition to his community involvement with the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce, he is also a member and Paul Harris Fellow of the Oshkosh Downtown Rotary, and he has served on many nonprofit organization boards in the Oshkosh community.
