MADISON, WI – Frontier Airlines’ announcement today of the launch of nonstop service between Dane County Regional Airport (MSN) and Denver International Airport (DIA) is being hailed as good news for Madison area travelers. The airline is known for its affordable rates and good customer service.

“This is certainly welcome news,” said Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk. “We’re pleased to have a low fare carrier serve our airport and open up more west-bound destinations for travelers.”

The daily flight, to begin May 3, departs Madison at 6:55 p.m., and arrives in Denver at 8:30 p.m., with connections to a number of cities including Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle-Tacoma, Salt Lake City and Las Vegas, among others. The return flight departs Denver at 3:10 p.m., arriving in Madison at 6:20 p.m.

“The effort to bring Frontier to the community has been underway for at least six years. It was an ongoing process involving the Convention & Visitors Bureau and Chamber of Commerce partners,” said Airport Director Bradley Livingston.

Chamber of Commerce President Jennifer Alexander and Convention & Visitors Bureau President Deb Archer, both said the Frontier announcement is very positive for both commerce and tourism in the area.

Airport Commission Chair and County Board Supervisor Dennis O’Loughlin said, “Obviously Frontier sees this as a great opportunity to serve the needs of customers in the Dane County area. I look forward to other possible expansion of Frontier service in the future.”

The 99-seat Embraer 190 aircraft to be used on the flight is a newer model aircraft that has received favorable reviews for comfort, with two-by-two leather seating. Frontier planes are recognizable with their trademark wildlife theme on the tails.

Frontier Airlines is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Republic Airways Holdings, Inc. Republic also owns Midwest Airlines, and Midwest Connect, which serves Dane County Regional Airport.

United Express Airlines also provides daily nonstop air service from Madison to Denver. Dane County Regional Airport provides nonstop service to 13 destinations and major hub airports.
