Double-digit growth seen after company acquires Inacom

Core BTS (Core), a business technology infrastructure and collaboration company with its sales and delivery headquarters in Madison, announced today that it has improved its ranking in the Everything Channel’s CRN VAR500 list of North America’s top technology solutions providers.

The VAR500 is an annual list that ranks companies by their 2009 revenue. Of the organizations listed on the 2010 VAR500 list, 48% experienced a decline in revenue from their 2008 reported earnings.

In contrast, Core reported a 31.2% growth, following the July 2009 acquisition of Midwest firm Inacom Information Systems. Core is listed at number 269, a jump from the previous year’s perch at 287.

“We have been fortunate to experience growth during a time when the IT industry has had its share of economical hiccups,” says Frank Albi, Core BTS President and CEO. “However, I think the key for us has been maintaining focus on the customer.”

To compile the VAR500, Everything Channel profiled over 700 companies classified as an independent value-added reseller (VAR); IT or business consultant; direct market retailer; retailer/e-tailer; or a vendor/distributor with a separate services division. All revenue figures were verified either by public record for publicly traded companies, or notarized affidavits for private entities.

“Budgets can be cut and projects stalled for financial reasons, but when there is a business need that calls for a technology answer, the role of a trusted provider becomes more critical than ever,” adds Albi. “You need someone to get it right the first time, and we do that time and again in the field.”

The full VAR500 list can be found here.
