Clean Wisconsin Action Fund’s associate program director, Ryan Schryver, released the following statement this evening following breaking news that Chris Larson defeated incumbent Senator Jeff Plale in the 7th Senate District’s Democratic Primary:
“Tonight’s election results are an overwhelming mandate for clean energy and demonstrate that voters understand that clean energy legislation creates jobs, lowers electricity bills and protects Wisconsin’s beautiful environment.
“Tonight voters had a clear choice between one candidate who stood in the way of clean energy legislation and a candidate who will stand up for his constituents by putting clean energy job creation ahead of the interests of big oil and coal companies. They voted resoundingly in favor of clean energy.
“Throughout the upcoming election, we look forward to working with candidates from across the state, who, like Chris Larson, will work to promote the clean energy jobs
