Green Bay, Wisconsin – Bay Area Humane Society is hosting a special adoption event from now through December 23, 2010. All cats and kittens over 4 months old have their adoption fee waived. Also a few select dog adoption fees are waived. Adopters are all subject to normal application approval – the most important requirement being lots of love to give their new furry family member! All adoptions still include the same great care including:

* Spay or neuter surgery

* Rabies vaccination

* Initial distemper vaccination

* Deworming treatment, flea treatment

* Microchip identification & Registration

* Free Health Examination (within ten business days of adoption courtesy of local veterinarians)

* starter bag of Science Diet food, and more

The shelter is open from Noon – 7:00 pm Monday through Thursday. They will be closed Friday, December 24th through Monday, December 27th to allow staff to celebrate with their families.

“Just this morning I spoke with a man who lost his 18-year old cat on Friday, and he shared stories about how much laughter and love that cat brought to his family”, says Lisa Kay Peters, Development Director. “He described how well he remembered adopting their cat from our shelter so long ago, and that the adoption was a Christmas ‘gift’ for the family. Truly, is their any greater gift than love?” The Bay Area Humane Society does not suggest giving pets as gifts to others, as choosing the right pet is paramount to a happy, lasting relationship. However, the shelter encourages expanding your own family through adoption during this joyous season.
