Dan Ebert will join WPPI Energy on February 16, 2009 as Vice President of Policy and External Affairs. Ebert will oversee the legislative and regulatory affairs, corporate communication, and policy development functions for the Sun Prairie, Wis.-based electric utility serving 50 member communities.

Ebert served as Chair of the Public Service Commission (PSC) of Wisconsin from March 2005 to May 2008 and has most recently worked as an independent consultant. Prior to being appointed PSC Chair, he served as executive assistant to PSC Chair Bernie Bridge. He also served as Transition Personnel Director for Governor Doyle when the Governor was first elected in 2002. During his 14-year career in Washington, D.C., Ebert worked in both the U. S. Senate and the U. S. House of Representatives. During his final two years in Washington, Ebert was Legislative Director for Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee member Maria Cantwell (D-Washington), serving as a senior policy advisor and managing a 15-person legislative office. Ebert also served as the Executive Director for the nation’s first Internet-focused trade association, Net Coalition.com, and as the Country Director for the National Democratic Institute in Kiev, Ukraine.
A Wisconsin native, Ebert grew up in Watertown and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in both Political Science and Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
