Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association: Latest H1N1 flu info now on Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association web site (WVMA.org)

MADISON (Nov. 13, 2009) – Animal owners looking for the latest information on the H1N1 flu virus can now find it through the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association’s web site, http://www.wvma.org. The site now has a link on its home page to an extensive list of frequently asked questions about H1N1 compiled by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). The AVMA has been in constant contact with agencies and experts around the country to learn more about how the disease affects both humans and animals.

“Wisconsin veterinarians have been fielding H1N1 questions since a housecat tested positive for H1N1 in Iowa last week,” said WVMA President Phil Johnson, DVM. “Education is a core part of our mission, so we felt we should get this information out in as many channels as possible. We hope concerned animal owners will both talk to their veterinarian and visit our web site to get information.”
