West Grove Clinic: Names noted addictionologist as medical director

Elm Grove, Wis. – West Grove Clinic, LLC, has named Selahattin Kurter, M.D., a well-known board-certified psychiatrist and addictionologist, as its Medical Director.

Dr. Kurter will direct and oversee the clinic’s intensive outpatient addiction program, and supervise all patient treatment requiring the involvement of a medical doctor. He has been on staff at West Grove Clinic, LLC, since July 2008.

“Dr. Kurter is one of a handful of certified addictionologists in the area, and he brings unparalleled expertise to the addiction support and treatment programs at West Grove Clinic,” said Fred Malesevich, Co-Executive Director of the clinic. “He has done a wonderful job shaping these programs to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care and treatment. His knowledge and background are tremendous resources for our clinic and everyone who walks through its doors.”

Dr. Kurter holds an M.D. in psychiatry from the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he served as Chief Resident in 2007. He earned an M.D. in internal medicine from the Medical College in 2004, and an M.D. in medicine from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He teaches as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Medical College.

Dr. Kurter is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Addiction Medicine. He is a certified Suboxone prescriber for opioid dependence, and prescribes and injects Vivitrol, an anti-craving medication for alcohol dependence.

Founded in 2001, West Grove Clinic, LLC, is licensed and certified by the state of Wisconsin as an Outpatient Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse (AODA) Clinic. Among its many advances in intensive outpatient treatment are gender-specific groups for both men and women, along with co-ed programs.
