Graphic artists from around the Midwest will gather at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) on March 6-7 for the 5th annual nowHERE Design Conference, hosted by the UWSP student chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Artists (AIGA) and the UWSP Department of Art and Design.

The conference will feature lectures and workshops by visiting artists James Penman and Joshua Davis of House of Tears Design, a company based in Kansas City, and Chase, a Belgian artist and designer who lives and paints murals in Los Angeles. Hands-on workshops with each of the artists, House of Tears on Friday and Chase on Saturday, are $15 for AIGA members and $25 for nonmembers.

All of the guest artists will offer free public lectures with Chase on Friday, March 6, and House of Tears on Saturday, March 7. Both lectures will be held at 7 p.m. in Room 221 of the Noel Fine Arts Center on the UWSP campus.

Additional activities during the conference include presentations by art and design alumni, a Sunday networking brunch, artist trading cards, design themed movies and games.
