Apr. 27, 2009—Trig’s and Trig’s County Market received an award for 1st place at the 70th annual Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors award ceremony which was held April 17-19 in Madison, Wisconsin.

The award was won for their Pre-Cooked Pizza Brats in the category of Cooked Specialty Bratwurst.

Accepting the award was Jamie Kline, Manager of Trig’s and Trig’s County Market Smokeshoppe. Kline said of the award, “We are honored to have our product acknowledged as the best in the state of Wisconsin. This award motivates us to keep producing the best quality products possible for our customers.”

The Wisconsin Meat Product Competition is the largest of its kind in the United States. Meat processing plants and meat markets from throughout the state entered over 900 products in 35 categories this year.

Over 40 judges including food scientists, out-of-state meat processors, and other food industry professionals were required to evaluate the entries for external appearance, eye appeal, internal appearance, aroma, and taste.

The Trig’s chain of grocery stores is owned by the T.A. Solberg Company, which has stores in Rhinelander, Minocqua, Eagle River and Wausau. The company also owns Trig’s County Market in Stevens Point.
