Suttle-Straus, Madison area communications provider, won a total of 53 awards for outstanding achievement in the ninth annual 2009 Graphics Excellence Awards, a statewide printing competition hosted by the Printing Industries of Wisconsin, the state’s trade association for printing and graphic arts.
Competing against over 900 entries from printing firms across the state, Suttle-Straus garnered multiple awards for pieces submitted for judging. The company received Best of Category for six pieces and Best of Division for two entries, representing a variety of products. Awards of Excellence were given to Suttle-Straus for 30 additional en-tries, as well as another 15 Certificate of Merit awards for a total of 53 pieces being recognized.
“We are extremely proud of our winning team,” said John Berthelsen, President, “It is a real achievement to be recognized as a company that produces top quality, award winning materials.”
Entries were judged on technical printing excellence by a judging panel of printers, buyers, and ad agency executives. Niall Power, PIW’s president and CEO stated “As the standard of excellence con-tinues to rise, determining the winning entries gets more difficult. Suttle-Straus should be very proud of their company’s achievement and the excellent work done by their employees.”
The Graphic Excellence Awards recognize those responsible for the creation and production of print communications in Wisconsin. The competition promotes excellence in print communications and rewards companies and individuals who produce the best in print media.
PIW is the state’s graphic arts trade association, representing an industry with more than 45,000 employees and $7.9 billion in annual sales. (2008 Print Market Atlas)
