One-of-a-kind concert premium being offered for $15,000

Milwaukee, Wisconsin (September 28, 2009) – The Pabst Theater and RadioMilwaukee are offering two front row seats to every Pabst Theater show in 2010 to the first person or company to offer $15,000 for the package during the station’s fall on-air fund drive, which starts today and runs through Friday.

This unusual, one-of-a-kind premium will guarantee an interested business, individual or group of friends the very best seats in the house at Milwaukee’s premier live music venue for one full year of great performances, said Mary Louise Mussoline, RadioMilwaukee’s executive director.

“This offer will interest companies and individuals who value hearing an amazing variety of great live music up close, and also want to help RadioMilwaukee grow,” Mussoline said. “Customers, employees or friends of a generous donor will also greatly appreciate these prime seats.”

Mussoline said that front-row season tickets to a popular music venue such as the Pabst Theater are as valuable to serious music fans as stadium and arena season box seats are to serious sports fans. “We feel that corporate and philanthropic music supporters will strongly consider this offer for guaranteed front row seats to a year’s worth of concerts, just like many businesses and sports fans buy premium season tickets to a season of Milwaukee Brewers and Bucks games,” she said.

Mussoline said the station appreciated the Pabst Theater for helping provide this premium. “The revitalization of the Pabst Theater, Riverside Theater and Turner Hall Ballroom is helping create a musical renaissance in Milwaukee, and RadioMilwaukee is pleased to be a partner with these great venues.”

The 1,345-seat theater, built in 1895, generally books more than 100 shows a year, most of them with reserved seating. The premium package offer includes front row seats for reserved seating concerts and general admission tickets for the other shows.

Such a package has never before been made available for Pabst Theater concerts.

In the last few years, the Pabst has hosted both nationally renowned and emerging musical artists, ranging in styles from Indie to jazz, folk to rock, and everything in between, as well as comedy and dance performances. Recent headliners have included Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt, Emmylou Harris, Brian Wilson, David Byrne, Les Paul, Wilco, Bon Iver, The National, M. Ward, Colin Meloy, Bright Eyes and the Milwaukee Ballet.

Acts already confirmed for the Pabst Theater next year include The 5 Browns, a family of classical piano virtuosos, and The Chieftains, six-time Grammy winners recognized for bringing traditional Irish music to the world’s attention

Only one such premium package will be available. The donation is tax-deductible as allowed by applicable laws. Potential donors interested in the Pabst Theater tickets premium should contact Station Manager Vicki Mann at 414-475-8097 or vicki@radiomilwaukee.org. The purchase must be completed by Oct. 30.
