Original Wisconsin Ducks: Splash down into Lake Delton today

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (April 16, 2009) – Passengers on Original Wisconsin Ducks today became some of the first travelers on the newly restored Lake Delton. The family favorite Duck tours of Wisconsin Dells made their first splashdowns into Lake Delton around 2:30 this afternoon giving lucky spring visitors an up-close view of the refilled lake. Original Wisconsin Ducks took a few tours out onto the lake this afternoon and will continue the Lake Delton water entries through the weekend and beyond. Original Wisconsin Ducks was one of several businesses affected by the catastrophic shoreline breach of Lake Delton last June 9 that drained its water in less than three hours, leaving it dried up for the rest busy summer travel season.

Original Wisconsin Ducks had to cut out the Lake Delton section of its tour last summer due to the breach. Now just more than 10 months later, the lake is just about 2 feet from being fully refilled and the Ducks are back on the lake once again.

Original Wisconsin Ducks opened its 2009 season in mid March offering land and water tours of wilderness trails and a water entry into the Wisconsin River. Original Wisconsin Ducks is the largest tour duck operator in the United States with more than 90 Ducks.
