10 Awarded “2009 Contractor of the Year”

(Madison, WI), (January 2009) — Ten companies, in Madison, WI were named Local winners in the 2009 Contractor of the Year (CotY) Award competition in several categories. The awards are part of an annual competition held by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).
* Residential Kitchen $30,000 to $60,000 – Kitchen Solvers
* Residential Kitchen over $100,000 – Architectural Building Arts, Inc.
* Residential Bath under $30,000 – Not Just Kitchens LLC
* Residential Interior over $100,000 – Nimbus Construction LLC
* Residential Addition over $250,000 – Architectural Building Arts, Inc.
* Entire House under $250,000 – Home Works Remodeling
* Entire House $500,001 to $1,000,000 – Architectural Building Arts, Inc.
* Residential/Historical Renovation/Restoration – TDS Custom Construction, Inc.
* Commercial Interior – Inner View
* Residential Universal Design – TZ of Madison, Inc.
Contractors from the Madison area vie for CotY Awards on an annual basis. All projects submitted for judging were an improvement or an addition to an existing structure. New construction projects were not eligible. In addition, competing projects were completed between July 1, 2007 and November 30, 2008 (a 17-month time period) and were not submitted in prior NARI local, regional or national contests. Judging for local awards took place at the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee in early November. An impartial panel of judges who are experts within the industry and associated fields, selected winners based on each entrant’s “before and after” photography and project description, problem solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation, degree of difficulty and entry presentation.
Trophies were awarded at the 2009 Celebrating Excellence Awards Evening in Madison on January 9, 2009.
The Celebrating Excellence Awards Evening is widely considered to be the premier event of the year in the remodeling industry. The event was attended by more than 150 of the industry’s elite and was sponsored by the following NARI Member companies: Gold Level: Window Design Center; Silver Level: A to Z RentAll, Ganser Exteriors; Bronze Level: American Kennedy Hahn – Contract Sales, The Bruce Company of Wisconsin, Derek Frank Plumbing, LLC, ProSource Floor Covering, Cabinet Masters, Inc., State Bank of Cross Plains and Light Haus Custom Glass.
To be considered for a CotY Award, a company must be a NARI member in good standing. NARI members represent an elite group from the approximately 800,000 companies and individuals in the U.S. identifying themselves as remodelers.
