IATSE 470 Endorsement is First Union Local Endorsement of Wisconsin Gubernatorial Race

OSHKOSH — The membership of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 470 today announced their endorsement of Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton for Governor of Wisconsin.

“Our members want to see Barbara Lawton as our next governor and will work tirelessly to make that happen, “pledged IATSE local 470 Business Representative Stephen Dedow. “Making the decision to endorse early was an easy one for us, given Lt. Governor Lawton’s record in creating jobs for our members.”

“I am honored to be endorsed by the hardworking members of IATSE Local 470 to serve as governor of Wisconsin,” said Lt. Governor Lawton. “They know very well I will be on the job putting Wisconsin to work, everywhere across this state.”

IATSE Local 470 members provide a trained, knowledgeable labor force for all forms of technical theatre, including concerts, trade shows, installations of state equipment and rigging, etc. Members are skilled in state carpentry, electrics, sound, props, wardrobe and rigging.

“What our union cares about most is jobs, and Barbara Lawton has brought a lot of work to the State of Wisconsin for our union members,” said IATSE Local 470 Business Representative Stephen Dedow. “Because of her efforts to bring the film industry to Wisconsin, we saw over 100 jobs created last year for IATSE Local 470 members. That’s a big deal to us because Wisconsin desperately needs leadership focused on bringing jobs to our state.”

IATSE Local 470 has 104 members largely from Oshkosh, Appleton and Green Bay.
