Beloit WI – The Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce (GBCC), Forward Janesville, and the Young Professionals Group (YPG) have teamed up to attract, engage, and retain the best and the brightest next generation talent in our community. For over one year the YPG has hosted events in Janesville, but now with the help of the GBCC the group has expanded its network in Rock County. The second Beloit YPG event will be held at Beloit’s much loved Beloit Fine Arts Incubator, 520 East Grand Ave, on Thursday October 1, 2009. The BFAI’s mission is to provide resources to help emerging artists, offer community education and cultural events, and expand on the “Arts Center” theme. The October event will feature the well known photographer Chris Quillen. Chris’s clients include Eastman Kodak, Xerox, United Way and several advertising agencies. The Young Professionals will learn about the highly-involved arts culture of Beloit. They will be able to explore the BFAI gallery and Chris’s photos as they network and enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and the cost to attend is $5.00 which includes two free drink tickets and appetizers. Chamber membership is not required to attend.
