Discover Mediaworks: Adds award-winning pros

Writer/Producers and Graphics Designer bring depth, experience to production projects

Discover Mediaworks, an industry leader in comprehensive video production and strategic media services, is pleased to announce that three award-winning creative experts – Paul Kaplan, Patricia Rand-Allen, and Steve Vollmer – have joined the company. Kaplan and Rand-Allen are writer/producers who bring decades of experience as founders of their own successful production businesses and as creative professionals with ESPN, CBS, NFL Network, Walt Disney World and other large clients. Vollmer is a graphics designer who holds degrees in visual communications and business administration, is certified in Web design, and has worked as a magazine art director and a freelancer serving clients throughout the country.

Kaplan helped found a successful Milwaukee production house where he served as director of video production. He established his own production business in 2005 and is the winner of numerous Telly and Davey Awards for writing, producing and directing. Kaplan’s many noteworthy projects include developing television programs for the National Football League, including Helmets Off, which ran from 2002 to 2007 on FSN, and The J.B. Awards, which airs on CBS. He will work in creative development at Discover Mediaworks, helping the company develop new television programs and taking clients’ video production capabilities to new heights of excellence.

Rand-Allen won awards for a series of prime-time documentaries and travelled as a freelance videographer to South and Central America before signing on with Walt Disney World to produce major broadcast events for MTV, A&E, ABC and others. She was a segment producer for two seasons of Star Search and a freelance producer for The Oprah Winfrey Show. She founded her own production company in 1997 to create documentaries on important social issues. At Discover Mediaworks Rand-Allen will put her considerable storytelling expertise to work on behalf of the company’s flagship television show, Discover Wisconsin, and television productions currently in development.

Vollmer has graphic design experience in every medium from print to online and has created ads, logos, catalogs, newsletters, Web art and more for clients ranging from Long Island to San Diego. He has served as the editorial art director for In Business magazine and as the lead graphic artist for Inside Wisconsin Sports magazine. Along with a bachelor of fine arts in visual communications from American Intercontinental University, Vollmer has a bachelor of arts in business administration and marketing, and a certification in Web design. His skills, creativity and experience will enhance Discover Mediaworks’ offerings to a wide variety of video, online and communications clients.
