Devo Properties has been named 2008 Developer of the Year by the Greenfield Chamber of Commerce.

Greg Devorkin, president and founder of Devo Properties accepted the award on behalf of his team at the annual Chamber Award Dinner.

Greenfield Mayor Mike Neitzke nominated Devo Properties and lauded the developer for transforming the 90,000-square-foot shopping center into a community destination anchored by the upscale grocer, Sendik’s Food Market. “It was a pleasure to work with Greg and Devo Properties in partnership with the city. We’ve made a long lasting fantastic addition to our community,” said Mayor Neitzke.

The property, located at 7901 West Layton Ave., was renamed Sendik’s Commons and was fully occupied by April 2008, just four months after Devo Properties announced the purchase. In May 2008, Sendik’s opened its doors for business, resulting in 180 employment positions, with the majority filled by residents of Greenfield and the surrounding area. Other Sendik’s Commons tenants are Massage Envy, Cricket Communications, Toppers Pizza, Regency Beauty Institute, Alpha Cleaners and Great Clips.
