(Madison, Wisconsin) April 13, 2009 – Capitol Lakes™, an accredited, not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community in downtown Madison, Wisconsin (http://www.retirement.org/madison), announced today that Timothy J. Conroy has been appointed the new Health Care Services Manager of its Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, effective March 23, 2009.

Mr. Conroy previously worked at the Medford, Oregon, headquarters of Pacific Retirement Services, Inc. (PRS), the new parent company of Capitol Lakes (http://www.retirement.org). While there, he completed the PRS Administrator-in-Training program, addressing the management, business, legal, and human aspects of the retirement industry. He shadowed every position in the Health Care Center and served in every major department at PRS’s largest Continuing Care Retirement Community—the 668-acre Rogue Valley Manor in Medford. He also traveled to assist other PRS retirement communities.

When Capitol Lakes came on board as a new PRS affiliate in 2008, Mr. Conroy joined the second transition team in Madison, integrating new PRS technologies, facilitating billing services, and coordinating resident Quality of Care initiatives to apply PRS’s person-centered model of care to the Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

In June 2009, Mr. Conroy will earn his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York, later serving as Sports Director for KMEG-TV in Sioux City, Iowa, and Assistant News Director, Reporter, and News Anchor for the KDRV-TV Emmy Award-winning newsroom in Medford, Oregon.

“The skills I gained in broadcast news have served me well in my new position,” says Tim Conroy. “I managed diverse teams at both stations, and I also developed the ability to listen well and convey ideas in clear terms—two skills that are particularly important in aging services.”

Mr. Conroy is married with two small boys. “One of our goals was to move to Wisconsin to be near my wife’s family and closer to mine, so this was a fantastic opportunity. I also wanted to do meaningful work in a growing industry for a company I respect, and I’ve achieved all these goals at Pacific Retirement Services. To be able to create positive initiatives that impact the lives of others and then see them unfold using the resources of a national leader like PRS is a privilege.”
