(Madison, WI) November 4, 2009 – The Associated Recyclers of Wisconsin (AROW) welcomes Toral Jha of Madison, Wisconsin, as the organization’s new Executive Director. Toral, a longtime AROW member and former Board of Directors Secretary, began this new post in August. She is responsible for fiduciary management, fund raising, program development, staff supervision, and implementing AROW’s strategic priorities with the guidance of AROW’s Board of Directors and Committees – representing the organization’s diverse membership of government, industry and non-profit organizations.

In response to its recent strategic planning process AROW’s Board of Directors identified several key objectives for the organization that required a “new” Executive Director position to accomplish these goals.

“The addition of this new Executive Director role to AROW allows the organization to better realize its mission to serve as Wisconsin’s leader in resource renewal,” said Wess Damro, AROW Board President. “Toral brings with her a drive and the skills necessary to ensure AROW’s success during this period of transition and beyond. We look forward to what the future holds.”

Ms. Jha has nearly fifteen years of experience in the recycling and solid waste industry working in the private, non-profit, local government and state government sectors developing and managing environmental education, marketing and advocacy programs regarding resource management and pollution prevention.

“It is a tremendous privilege to serve my colleagues via AROW’s growing programming and advocacy efforts,” says Toral. “We have already seen some progress in the first three months of this transition – the formation of a new Education Committee, the passage of Wisconsin’s Electronics Recycling Legislation, and through better defined roles and relationships all of our committees are hard at work advising AROW’s programming and legislative initiatives.”
