U.S. Cellular: U.S. Cellular and Milwaukee Brewers announce exclusive sponsorship agreement

MILWAUKEE, Feb. 27, 2008 – The Milwaukee Brewers and U.S. Cellular today announced a multi-million dollar partnership, naming U.S. Cellular the exclusive wireless provider of the Milwaukee Brewers. This new sponsorship continues the company’s partnerships with winning teams including the 2006 NFC Champion Chicago Bears and World Champion St. Louis Cardinals, and the 2005 World Champion Chicago White Sox.

“As Milwaukee’s hometown wireless company, we believe in giving back to the communities where we live and work and we are excited to support the Brewers as they build on last year’s winning season,” said Jay Ellison, executive vice president and COO of U.S. Cellular. “We love supporting the teams that are important to our customers.”

U.S. Cellular’s partnership with the Brewers is the latest in a series of major sponsorships for the company in Milwaukee, including the U.S. Cellular Arena, the U.S. Cellular Connection Stage at Summerfest, the Wisconsin State Fair presented by U.S. Cellular and Festa Italiana presented by U.S. Cellular.

Beginning on Opening Day, as part of U.S. Cellular’s comprehensive partnership, fans will notice U.S. Cellular’s presence with signage in and around Miller Park including on the Brewers LED Boards as well as permanent signs in the outfield and on the Miller Park I-94 Message Center. In addition, fans will be able to sample the latest products and services at the interactive “U.S. Cellular Experience” kiosk in the Field Level Concourse behind Section 124. Throughout the season, fans can participate in a variety of U.S. Cellular-sponsored activities including free photos with a life-size cut-out of a Milwaukee Brewers player and a special U.S. Cellular Day on Aug. 23, when the Brewers take on the Pittsburgh Pirates.

“We are thrilled that U.S. Cellular supports Milwaukee and the Brewers, and we are excited to begin a partnership with them as we look forward to another great season,” said Rick Schlesinger, executive vice president of business operations for the Milwaukee Brewers. “Like U.S. Cellular, the Milwaukee Brewers place great importance on a partnership with hometown organizations, and we thank U.S. Cellular for its continued commitment to Milwaukee.”
