Teamsters and Waste Management Conclude Bargaining Session for the Day

Union and Company to Return to Negotiations Tomorrow

MILWAUKEE, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Following a nine-hour bargaining session, Teamsters Local 200 and Waste Management Inc. agreed to conclude negotiations for the day. The two sides have agreed to resume negotiations at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2008.

Workers represented by Teamsters Local 200 will remain on strike during the negotiations. The strike is now in its second week.

“We will continue to bargain in good faith with Waste Management and hope to resolve this strike as soon as possible,” said Tom Millonzi, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 200. “Our first priority is protecting the future of these men and women on the line who have stood up for what they believe in, and they are looking forward to going back to work after we have reached an acceptable agreement with the company.”
