TDS Tosses Out Its e-Waste

Employees e-wasting no time to help the environment

Madison, Wis., June 4, 2008 – While Earth Day has passed, taking responsibility for the environment never stops. Two-million tons of electronic equipment was thrown out in 2007 in the United States. A majority of that e-waste was improperly tossed into landfills.

To help cut down on e-waste in landfills, TDS is holding a “Personal e-Waste Round-Up” for its more than 1,500 employees on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the Wisconsin Trade Center parking lot at 8401 Greenway Boulevard, Middleton, WI 53562.

After launching this program in the TDS corporate office, TDS is working with its business vendor Cascade Asset Management to provide responsible disposal of old electronics and computers for all local TDS employees.

TDS employees will drop off their e-waste at these times:

  • 6:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.

  • 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (Media encouraged at this time)

  • 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

This event is a unique way to educate the public on the importance of doing the right thing for the environment. TDS is always looking for ways to lessen its impact on the environment.
