Northwest Airlines Reports May Traffic

EAGAN, Minn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Northwest Airlines (NYSE: NWA) today announced a May consolidated (mainline and regional) load factor of 85.5 percent, 1.2 points above May 2007. Northwest reported a mainline load factor of 86.5 percent, 1.7 points above May 2007.


In May 2008, Northwest and its Northwest Airlink regional carriers flew 6.7 billion consolidated revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and 8.2 billion consolidated available seat miles (ASMs), with a traffic increase of 4.3 percent and a capacity increase of 2.7 percent versus May 2007.


Northwest flew 6.31 billion mainline RPMs and 7.29 billion mainline ASMs in May 2008, a traffic increase of 1.0 percent and a capacity decrease of 1.0 percent versus May 2007.
